Vice President Kamala Harris is making her thoughts clear on former president Donald Trump\u2019s recent claims of protecting women: he doesn\u2019t.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris sat down over the weekend with podcast host Alex Cooper on the latest episode of \u201cCall Her Daddy,\u201d where she discussed top concerns among women including lack of affordable housing, abortion access, and even domestic violence. One major highlight included Harris addressing Trump\u2019s recent comments at a Pennsylvania rally, in which he told women he will be their \u201cprotector\u201d and will save them from loneliness, abandonment and fear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris pointed to Trump\u2019s actions of reversing the protections of Roe vs. Wade, resulting in 20 states having abortion bans with no exceptions for rape and incest \u2014 which she called \u201cimmoral.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the same guy who said that women should be punished for having abortions?\u201d Harris told Cooper. \u201cThis is the same guy who uses the kind of language he does to describe women?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harris also addressed J.D. Vance\u2019s \u201cchildless cat lady<\/a>\u201d comments over the summer, specifically on what message it sends to women who can\u2019t or do not want to have children. \u201cI just think it\u2019s mean and mean-spirited,\u201d Harris said. \u201cMost Americans want leaders who understand that the measure of their strength is not based on who you beat down \u2014 the real measure of the strength of a leader is who you lift up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

With less than a month left until Election Day, both Harris and Trump are working to get support from voters, especially in key battleground states. According to recent polling conducted by the Swing State Project, Harris currently is leading Trump by a mere 1%<\/a>. Her lead is present in states like Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, while she is tied with Trump in North Carolina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the podcast, Harris also addressed the reasons why many young people are deciding to opt-out of having children, pointing to the expensive housing market as one example. According to CNBC, a quarter<\/a> of Gen Z people and millennials without kids plan to stay childless, mostly due to financial reasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If elected president, Harris said she will implement a plan to increase the housing supply by building 3 million homes across the country. Providing $25,000 in home buying assistance for first-time homeowners, and giving tax cuts to 100 million middle-class workers \u2014 including a $6,000 tax cut for young parents for the first year of their child\u2019s life \u2014- are also her main goals during presidency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And with women holding about 65% of the $1.6 million<\/a> in student loan debt, Harris has a plan for them, and male debt holders, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are fighting and I\u2019m going to continue to fight for student debt relief,\u201d Harris said. <\/p>\n\n\n
