Danielle Peplinski’s Chillin Sports Mom apparel line creates stylish waterproof sideline jackets for moms who spend their weekends at the game.
There are tons of warm-up outfits and cool-down clothes for student athletes, but does anyone think of the moms? A frustrated (and cold) Danielle Peplinski was prompted to start up her business after spending hours in the wind and the rain, watching her children’s sports games. The Syracuse, New York-based mompreneur looked and looked for stylish outerwear that would keep her warm and dry but couldn’t find anything on the market. So in 2024, Peplinski launched her own line, Chillin Sports Mom, which offers chic sideline jackets and outerwear.

How is your business different from others in your industry?
Our sideline jacket is the first to market warm and waterproof sideline jackets designed specifically for sports moms.
Tell us about your biggest success so far.
My children. In terms of business, taking risks and starting a company solo.
What is your top challenge and how have you addressed it?
Having the capital to sustain this business. To address this, I’m starting out slow. I’m launching one product at a time and working with manufacturers who can meet low minimums.
What is your biggest tip for other startup entrepreneurs?
Ask for help and try not to do everything on your own. There are some areas that you may not know and understand that well. That’s ok. It’s best to get help instead of wasting time and money.
How do you find inspiration on your darkest days?
I’m very positive and know that there will be good and bad days. On dark days, I push through more.
What is your go-to song to get motivated on tough days?

Who is your most important role model?
